Peer and Instructor Feedback

During my process, I mainly needed feedback/advice on how controversial this speech could be. I wanted to make it memorable, but I didn’t want it to be inappropriate. I sought to answer the question, "How far is too far?" This topic is so sensitive, which is why so many leaders shy away from its [sometimes] polarizing conversation and discussion. And in consulting with my peers, I determined that I should air on the side of caution. Since President Schlissel is a male speaker, his word might be less believable than a female speaker who might be seen as a person who is vulnerable, and thus more sympathetic than a male speaker.

In addition, after I submitted my draft of this piece, Shelley, my brilliant instructor gave me constructive feedback on how to improve the speech. She noted that there needed to be more context, to situate the reader. And, that some of my assertions were somehwat grandiose. For example, attempting to "put an end to sexual assault," seemed quite exaggerated.

I took this feedback into consideration, and am continuing to revise and edit my final draft of my re-mediation project.
